ANALISIS HUBUNGAN AKTIVITAS KENDARAAN BERMOTOR TERHADAP KONSENTRASI SO2 DAN NO2 DI UDARA AMBIEN JALAN RADEN INTAN KOTA MALANG
Abstract
Jalan Raden Intan, Malang City is one of the roads that is dense with transportation
activities and has several residential, trade and terminal areas in Malang City. The density of
vehicle activity causes changes in air quality which can have a negative impact on settlements
around Jalan Raden Intan. This study aims to determine the relationship between motor vehicle
activity and the effect of sampling time on the concentration of SO2 and NO2 in the ambient air.
The sampling location is on Jalan Raden Intan, Malang City. This research consisted of
several steps starting from making TMC adsorbent solution for SO2, Griess Saltzman adsorption
solution for NO2, making calibration curves, and calculating vehicle volume. The concentration
was determined using a UV-Vis Thermo Scientific Genesys 20 spectrophotometer. The sampling
time was divided into weekdays (Tuesday-Wednesday) and holidays (Saturday-Sunday) with
sampling hours at 03.00-04.00, 08.00-09.00, 12.00-13.00, 16.00- 17.00, and 19.00-20.00 WIB.
The results showed that in the research conditions the concentrations of SO2 and NO2
in ambient air were correlated (medium category) with the level of motor vehicle activity on Jalan
Raden Intan, while the sampling time had no correlation. The highest concentration of SO2 was
recorded at 769.15 g/Nm3 and the concentration of NO2 was 1,732 g/Nm3. Both of them do not
exceed the ambient air quality standards, namely 900 g/Nm3 and 400 g/Nm3.
