Abstract

Kali Lamong is the nearest source of surface water in Simongagrok Village. In terms of physical parameters, the quality of raw water for Kali Lamong needs to be improved. This study aims to formulate the water treatment design criteria of Kali Lamong using the up-flow filtration method. This filtration treatment method uses the up-flow flow of it direction. Filtration reactor consists of 3 types, each of reactor had a different height variation in media composition. First reactor consists of 30 cm gravel, 10 cm zeolite, and 20 cm silica sand. Second reactor consists of 10 cm gravel, 20 cm zeolite and 30 cm silica sand. And, the last reactor consists of 20 cm of gravel, 30 cm of zeolite and 10 cm of silica sand. The filtration rates used are 0.1 m / hour and 0.3 m / hour. The results of the study showed that the highest percentage reduction in turbidity of 77.3% was found in second reactor with a filtration rate of 0.1 m / hour. While the highest percentage reduction in TDS of 20.2% was found in the third reactor with a filtration rate of 0.3 m / hour. The design criteria obtained in this study are a filtration rate of 0.1 m3 / hour.m2, media height of 60 cm, the composition of the media consists of 10 cm of gravel, 20 cm of zeolite and 30 cm of silica sand.
