Abstract

Mojosari Village, Kauman District, Tulungagung City is classified as a village with an inadequate sanitation system, this is illustrated by almost all houses directing the waste pipe
greywater to a drainage channel whose output is a body of water. This study aims to provide a solution for domestic wastewater treatment before being discharged directly into the water body, by designing a Communal Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL) using Anaerobic Baffled
Reactor (ABR) unit. based on the many ease in operation and maintenance.
The calculation of IPAL for ABR units is divided based on the calculation of the average wastewater
discharge, namely IPAL Type A with a discharge of 61392 lt / day, IPAL Type B with a debit of 54944
lt / day and 56336 lt / day, IPAL Type C with a discharge of 46816 l / day and 48672 lt / day, as well
as IPAL Type D with a debit of 22384 l / day.
TSS removal efficiency resulted in 60% in all types of WWTP, removal of COD and BOD in IPAL
type A, namely 84.46% and 90.80%, removal of COD and BOD in IPAL type B 86.42% and 92.28%,
removal of COD and BOD in IPAL type C 86.42% and 92.28, removal of COD and BOD in IPAL type
D 87.41% and 93.01%.
