Abstract

Puken Tobi Wangi Bao Village has an area of 685 ha with a total population of 5,863
people. The problem of waste in Puken Tobi Wangi Bao Village is still found in people who throw
garbage in irrigation canals as well as disposal and burning in vacant land. In 2019, Puken Tobi Wangi
Bao Village generated 2195.73 m3
/year of waste (DLH Larantuka, 2019). There are currently 2 TPS in
Puken Tobi Wangi Bao Village with a capacity of 6 m3. Most of the waste generated comes from
domestic activities with different characteristics. The waste management system in Puken Tobi Wangi
Bao Village still uses the old paradigm.
Measurement of waste generation and composition of waste is carried out for 8 consecutive days
in accordance with SNI 19-3964-1994 concerning Methods of Collection and Measurement of Samples of
Generation and Composition of Urban Waste.
The planning of an integrated waste management system that is carried out includes the
operational technical aspects of waste management where the planned storage is 2 types of sorting,
namely wet waste and dry waste. The addition of 20 garbage collection tools in the form of insulated
wagon motors. The planned land area for TPS 3R is 467.66 m2
, which consists of sorting area,
storage/packaging area, composting area, residue area, office, garage, and warehouse.
