Abstract

Pakistaji Village which is located in Wonoasih Sub-district, Probolinggo City is classified as a sub-district with a poor sanitation system, this is illustrated by nearly 58.11% of the population in Wonoasih Regency directing greywater and blackwater pipes to lead drainage channels. directly in a body of water. This study aims to provide a solution for domestic wastewater treatment before being discharged directly into water bodies by designing a Communal Wastewater Treatment Plant (IPAL) in accordance with the planning area.

The planned domestic wastewater treatment uses an Anaerobic-Aerobic Biofilter (AAB) unit. The biofilter functions as a medium for filtering wastewater through this medium. As a result, the concentration of liquid waste containing suspended solids and E. coli bacteria will decrease after going through this filter. The choice of IPAL with the AAB unit is also based on the many conveniences in operation and maintenance. Planning is carried out in settlements near water bodies or 318KK in the RW 004 and RW 006 areas.

The IPAL calculation for AAB units is divided based on the calculation of the average wastewater discharge, namely IPAL in RW 004 with a debit of 73,616 l / day and IPAL in RW 006 with a discharge of 54,168 l / day. The TSS removal efficiency resulted in 60% for the two types of IPAL, the COD and BOD allowances for the two types of IPAL were 84.80% and 91%
