Abstract

The Balikpapan - Samarinda Toll Road was built to facilitate traffic in the developing city of Samarinda. With the Balikpapan - Samarinda toll road, regular congestion problems have significantly reduced. The construction on toll road section 4 Balikpapan - Samarinda, East Kalimantan (Sta 10 + 000 - Sta 13 + 000) uses flexible pavement. The data required is Image Data obtained from PT. Graha Benua Etam (GBE), Daily Traffic data used for the past year, 2016 to 2017, rainfall data (BMKG) was taken from the Samarinda City area, CBR data was obtained from PT. Graha Benua Etam, data on unit prices for work related to Bina Marga in 2016, East Kalimantan. This data is secondary data, the method used is the Comparative Study of the 2017 Bina Marga method and the 1993 AASHTO in the Planning of Flexible Pavement Thickness on the Balikpapan-Samarinda Toll Road, East Kalimantan (Sta 10 + 000 - Sta 13 + 000). Calculation of flexible pavement thickness using the Bina Marga SNI 2017 method obtained the pavement thickness for the surface layer (AC-WC) as thick as 4 cm and layers (AC-BC) 15.5 cm thick, for the top foundation layer (LPA CBR 80%) of 15 cm . For the Bina Marga SNI 2017 method, the total thickness of the pavement is 34.5 cm at a price of Rp. 32,110,138,176. Second, using the AASHTO 1993 method, the pavement thickness for the surface layer with a layer (AC-BC) was 5 cm thick, for the upper foundation layer (LPA CBR 80%) of 27 cm and the bottom layer (LPB CBR 50%) of 39 cm. For the 1993 AASHTO method the total pavement thickness is 77 cm at a price of Rp. 16,848,080,471. It can be concluded that the 1993 AASHTO method is more economical than the Bina Marga SNI 2017 method.
