Abstract

Madyopuro intersection is one of the intersections affected by the access to the Sawojajar toll gate in Malang City. Thus, it is necessary to study the Madyopuro intersection regarding the impact of the Sawojajar toll gate access in order to provide a solution for repairing the intersection. Therefore, this study analyzes the impact of Sawojajar toll gate access on the performance of the Madyopuro intersection on Jalan Ki Ageng Gribig and Jalan Madyopuro Malang City.

The data used are primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from the results of a direct survey in the field for 3 days of observation in the form of road geometric data and traffic volume data. The survey location is at the Madyopuro intersection on Jalan Ki Ageng Gribig and Jalan Madyopuro. The survey was conducted on conditions before and after the operation of the Sawojajar toll gate access. Meanwhile, secondary data was obtained from BPS Malang City and data from previous research. The analysis is carried out on the degree of saturation, queue length and delay. As a basis for analysis, the 2014 Indonesian Road Capacity Guidelines (PKJI) were used. The impact of Sawojajar toll gate access on the performance of the existing Madyopuro intersection before the operation of Sawojajar toll gate access, the maximum delay value is 26.189 sec/veh and the maximum degree of saturation is 1.595 or 0.85. And after the operation of the existing Sawojajar toll gate access, the degree of saturation is 0.41 and the delay value is 33,397 sec/kend. This shows that the performance of the intersection is included in the service level D or is not feasible. After evaluating the calculation using the 2014 PKJI, it was concluded to make improvements to the intersection by using alternative 1 signal time optimization by re-planning the green time on each arm with an initial cycle of 102 seconds to 106 seconds, the degree of saturation was 0.34 and the delay was 0.34. 27,001 sec/veh with service level D. And for alternative solution 2 by widening the geometric for each arm by 2 meters, the degree of saturation value is 0.33 and the delay is 21.364 sec/veh with service level C. From the two alternatives, the two alternatives are more effective. using alternative 2, namely by widening the geometry by 2 meters, so that the intersection is expected to be able to serve traffic flow well.
