Unfortunately, some students are still getting difficult on it. The most problems shown are they are demotivated, shy to say something, still lack of vocabulary, in trouble to show their idea, hard to insist on their arguments in a discussion, and not fluent in speaking English. From the problems mentioned, the researcher conducted a study to find some characteristics of good English speakers of engineering students. This study took two best students from different faculties of engineering as the subjects of the study. Both students were qualified through some tests, as listening, speaking, and paper-based TOEFL test. The data collection used some instruments; observation, interview and questionnaire. The data were analyzed descriptively from the instruments mentioned. The finding of the study showed some characteristics influencing the students to be good English speakers. Those characteristics were classified into motivation, learning style, learning habit, and belief.
Masrurotul Ajiza Copyright (c) 2017 IJEM (International Journal Of Engineering And Management) https://ejournal.itn.ac.id/index.php/ijem/article/view/129 Sat, 18 Nov 2017 00:00:00 +0000 THE INFLUENCE OF ACETON TO IMPROVE SURFACE FINISH OF 3D PRINTED PART FOR ABS AND PLA MATERIAL https://ejournal.itn.ac.id/index.php/ijem/article/view/130
Additive Manufacturing (AM) is defined as according to ASTM is a process joining materials to create objects from 3D CAD model via layer upon layer. One of the common technology of AM is Fused Deposited Modelling (FDM), which uses the method of extrusion to form parts. FDM technology has been applied in many applications such as consumer product manufacturing. However, FDM suffers badly from low surface finish quality due to staircase effect and post treatment is required. In order to improve the surface roughness, the chemical treatment is one economic and fast method to enhance surface finish of ABS (Acrylonitrile Butadiene Stryene) fused modeled part by performing chemical treatment in Acetone solution. Therefore, this research aims to investigate the influence of chemical treatment on the FDM used parts in term of surface roughness.
Z Abdullah, N.N.N Rosli, S Maidin, MY Yaakob, MM Ghazaly, MA Ali Copyright (c) 2017 IJEM (International Journal Of Engineering And Management) https://ejournal.itn.ac.id/index.php/ijem/article/view/130 Sat, 18 Nov 2017 00:00:00 +0000 EVALUATION OF CONSTRUCTION IMPLEMENTATION ON WAREHOUSE RECEIPT BUILDING USING TIME COST TRADE-OFF ANALYSIS METHOD https://ejournal.itn.ac.id/index.php/ijem/article/view/132
Planning is the most important thing in achieving a construction project’s success. The effect of planning towards a construction project will impact on its revenue. It is underlined by numerous circumstances in construction projects stating that a good planning can save project costs up to ± 40 %, conversely, an ill-considered planning can cause budget leakage up to ± 40 %. Within the planning of a project, cost variable plays a crucial role apart from time variable and resource variable. Cost is one of the most essential aspect in management, where the costs that might arise must be controlled to be as low as possible. Cost management must also consider time factor, because there is a strong correlation between project completion time with the involved project costs. Often times, a project must be finished earlier than normal. In this case, the project leader is faced with a matter of accelerating the project completion time with a minimum budget. Therefore, the relationship between cost and time needs to be studied along with the Time Cost Trade Off Analysis. Based on the practice of Time Cost Trade Off method on this construction, it can optimally reduce the time duration by increasing human resources and project costs. The initial duration of this project which was 114 days turned to 93 days, cutting 21 days off from the normal schedule. The project cost of the normal schedule accounts to IDR 2.618.449.000,- whereas after the Time Cost Trade Off analysis is carried out with an additional direct cost of IDR 28.953.213,-, the total project cost is calculated to IDR 2.647.402.213,-.
Lalu Achmad Juniarta D. This study is specifically directed to educate, train and guide entrepreneurs in performing 'intervention' of production and market management in order to achieve Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) and halalan thoyibah testing. The analysis method used to answer the above objectives is Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach and the strategy used is action research. This research is able to provide guidance in conducting expansion path for the practitioners of creative economy so that they will be tough and honest in doing their business, and the products are safe for consumers, so it can support food security in order to face ASEAN Free Trade.
Muh. The robotic arm is employed to automatically move the object from the storage box to the conveyor system for further sorting process. The developed robotic arm has four degree of freedom (DOF) that consists of the shoulder part, the elbow part, the wrist part, and the gripper part. The robotic arm is developed using the low cost acrylic material and electronic components. The servo motor is employed to drive the robot arm, while the ATMega8 microcontroller is used as the main controller. The photodiode sensor is used to detect the presence of the plastic object or the metal object in the storage box. The experimental results show that the proposed system is able to achieve the goal properly and suitable to be implemented in the industrial control trainer module.
Aryuanto Soetedjo, Irmalia Suryani Faradisa, A.S.M Mukter Uz-Zaman, Ainur Rofik Copyright (c) 2017 IJEM (International Journal Of Engineering And Management) https://ejournal.itn.ac.id/index.php/ijem/article/view/136 Sat, 18 Nov 2017 00:00:00 +0000
