Abstract

Evacuation is part of a significant disaster mitigation phase in disaster risk reduction. Evacuation activities require special training, especially related to the initial introduction of the concept of disaster risk, hazards and evacuation sequences. Disaster evacuation training is very much needed, especially for people with disabilities, who need a special approach in conducting disaster evacuation. Earthquake disaster is one of the disasters causing great damage or loss. Malang City has the potential for earthquakes which are classified as medium and high. In this community service, knowledge and skills are increased related to earthquake evacuation, which is focused on disabled communities in Malang City. Community service using qualitative descriptive analysis methods. The initial stage of this community service is to find out the level of initial understanding of students related to earthquake disaster mitigation and evacuation through a questionnaire containing the evacuation process and earthquake disaster mitigation. The second stage is to conduct outreach with disabled communities related to increased readiness through socialization. The third stage is the evaluation of the socialization activities. It is hoped that the results of this last evaluation can increase the preparedness of the disabled community in the event of an earthquake. The expected result is an increase in the quality of understanding from disabled communities regarding preparedness in reducing earthquake risk through good understanding related to earthquake disaster mitigation.
