Abstract

Sound signal turning process can be used to detect the quality of a product of material Al- 6061, where the time domain to the frequency domain is analyzed with Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). The quality of a product is influenced machining processes corner radius (nose radius) (nsr), spindle rotation (n), cutting depth (a), and motion eat (f) constant, can be used as a measure of quality of manufactured goods. Taguchi method is used to analyze the most influential factors and conditions appropriate parameters will result in surface roughness of a lathe products and the value of frequency / amplitude. From the analysis of variance were performed nsr has the most influence on the surface roughness (Ra), conditions are best machining parameters obtained at nsr = 0.5 mm, n = 1250 rounds / min, a = 1.3 mm, Ra = 0.90 lm. Domain Frequency (Hz), which occurs in most excellent condition machining parameters obtained at nsr = 0.4 mm, n = 1 250 rounds / min, a = 1.0 mm. Domain amplitude (dB) the best on the condition nsr = 0.4 mm, n = 750 and A = 0.5 mm.
