Waste management at the Borong Inpres Market still applies a collection, transport, and disposal system and there is no waste sorting at the source which causes piles of garbage at TPS to often smell bad and disturb visitors and traders who are located near the TPS. also the condition of the TPS facilities that are no longer feasible so that they cannot accommodate the waste generated from market activities to the maximum, there is no garbage collection tool to collect waste from each kiosk/los in Borong Inpres Market which causes the waste generated from market activities not to be transported. This study aims to analyze the generation and composition of waste in the Borong Inpres Market and to find out the solid waste management system at the Borong Inpres Market includes storage, collection, and transportation referring to SNI 19-2454-2002 concerning Operational Engineering Procedures for Urban Waste Management. Sampling of waste generation and composition uses to the method of taking and measuring samples of urban waste generation and composition (SNI 19-3964-1995) for 8 consecutive days to 70 respondents representing all types of traders in the Borong Inpres Market. Sampling is carried out by collecting waste from each kiosk, then the waste is weighed, measured in volume, and sorted based on its composition.
Based on the research conducted, it was found that the system of storage, collection and transportation in the Inpres Borong market did not meet SNI 19-2454-2002 regarding Operational Technical Procedures for Urban Waste Management and The amount of waste generated at the Borong Inpres Market is 68.36 kg/day with a composition of 90% wet waste and 10% dry waste.
