Abstract

Communal WWTP Tlogomas Village is one of the wastewater treatments in Malang City that effluent has not met the quality standard based on Regulation of the minister of environment and forestry number 68 of 2016. An undertaking to reduce the effluent concentration of communal WWTP RW.05 Tlogomas Village by phytoremediation method of a land treatment system using Vetiver and Rami. This research aims to determine the resistance of two plants to communal WWTP effluent. Phytoremediation research was carried out continuously for 21 days with variations flow of tap water and communal WWTP effluent. Measured parameters were plant physical properties (Plant height, number of leaves, wet weight, and dry weight) and soil chemical properties (pH, C-Organic, N-Total, and P2O5). The results showed that both plants have good resistance to communal WWTP effluent. It’s characterized by plant growth from 55,75 cm to 89,5 cm and the number of leaves from 36 leaf blade to 64 leaf blade for Vetiver, Rami has height from 54,5 cm to 92,25 cm and the number of leaves from 32 leaf blade to 65 leaf blade. The processing capacity for HLR is 0,60 m3/m2/hari, BODLR is 0,34 kg/ha.day, CODLR is 0,90 kg/ha.day, NLR is 0,0088 kg/ha.day, dan FLR is 0,021 kg/ha.day.
