Abstract

In the construction of a bridge, a strong structure at an optimal price is one of the important things to get an efficient project planning. By using value engineering , it is possible to achieve efficient project planning. In the bridge construction project, Longkip sub-district, Subulussalam city, the construction of the floor slab is the second highest cost work so that it has the possibility to do value engineering.  This study aims to obtain cost savings for slab work using value engineering.floor Existing use conventional type plates, the alternatives available for the bridge floor slab options are full precast type plates and half precast.  The method used for decision making in this study uses AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) with Expert Choice software.plates full precast which have the largest weight of 0.498 with an inconsistency of 0.19. For the details of the weight of the criteria in terms of completion time , full precast has the largest weight, which is 0.78, followed by half precast with a weight of 0.213 and conventional at 0.079. While the inconsistency value is 0.13. Based on this comparison, it was found that the highest was full precast plate and the construction cost was Rp. 711,153,724.63., thus saving the initial design cost of Rp. 141,634,877.40. It can be stated that full precast plate is the best alternative.
